Words play an enormous part in our lives and are
therefore deserving of the closest study.
Aldous Huxley
To put it in a nutshell, this new workshop will enable you to activate, expand and practise your vocabulary.
You will increase your knowledge of figurative language, explore useful idioms, learn interesting proverbs and experience how you can use English more confidently and creatively.
Come and find the answers to the following questions:
* What sort of person is an early bird?
* What sort of relationship would you have with someone if you
got on like a house on fire?
* The person you are talking to says ‘let’s cross that bridge
when we come to it.’ What does she or he mean?
* How would you be feeling if you were full of beans?
* What’s a busman’s holiday?
* How would you be behaving towards someone if you were
giving him or her the cold shoulder?
Enjoy a variety of activities and have fun focusing on and extending your vocabulary. Create clear pictures of the language, discover how you can remember new words and phrases more easily and feel comfortable using them.
This workshop will enable you to have more self-confidence in your ability to use figurative and idiomatic language, to see, hear and feel more of the language, and to communicate effectively and successfully in an international English-speaking context.
What we have to learn to do, we learn by doing.
